About The Diverse Devotions Podcast

Diverse Devotions is a podcast about the spiritual experiences of Black religious leaders and practitioners whose spiritualities merge or straddle religious differences. We will hear from individuals who practice more than one religion. We will also learn from those whose belief system goes beyond any singular religious tradition. Through candid conversations and personal stories, we explore faith identities and practices that ignore traditional religious boundaries. Each episode uncovers the unique ways in which Black spirituality breaks the rules of how being religious is “supposed to work.” We will learn how Black faith evolves, adapts, transforms and liberates beyond boundaries.

African religions, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, New Thought religion and more. Diverse Devotions uplifts the bold voices and stories often left out of mainstream discussions of religion. We’ll explore personal journeys of transformation, and expand the ways that we understand Black spirituality. We’ll receive a deeper understanding of how complex Black belief fosters resilience, connection, and freedom.
